     In view of the demand of the subject,the department ofMicrobiology was started at Govt. Kamla Devi Rathi Mahila MahavidyalayaRajnandgaon in 2006 in graduation level, under Pt.RavishankarShuklaUniversity,Raipur (CG) and now it is under Hemchand YadavUniversity,Durg(CG)from academic session 2017-2018

�       STRENGTH:

a.     Thesubject is very popular amongstudents.

b.     Joboriented course.

c.      Providing qualityeducation to the student of ruralbackground and under privilege  dsection of society.

�       WEAKNESS:

a.     Insufficient no. of  classrooms

b.     Thestudents are poor in Englishlanguage.

c.      Faculty shortage in the department.

�       OPPORTUNITIES :

a.     Jobopportunities in private andpublic sector – private and Govt.  HospitalPathology lab, pharmaceutical companiesand teaching.

b.     Scopefor starting vocational and addon course.

�       THREATS:

a.     Lackof awareness about the subjectdue to the rural background and some of them arefirst generation in theirfamily.

b.     Mostof them come from economicallyweaker section of society for whom the feestructure is unaffordable.

�     There should be proper class roomformicrobiology subject.

�     There should be proper facility of drinking water,washroom and toilets incollege.

�     There   should be proper equipment andmaterialsfacility for practical works.

�     There should be separate department for microbiology.

Student access the college  laibrary. The departmentdoes not have any liabrary for student but the complementary copies ofbook of differentpublisher are provided for the UG student.
