Profile of the Department of Physics: In present eratechnology plays a vital role and it is very important to know how it works and what is the core of it and forthis we must know about science. In 1987 at Govt. Kamla Devi Rathi GirlsP. G. College Rajnandgaon department of physics was formally opened under Pt.Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur (CG) and which is now affiliated toHemchand Yadav University, Durg (CG) from academic session 2017-18.

Strengths:

�       Facultyinvolved in the activities like research and participation in the seminars,workshops and hands on training programme and extra-curricular activities etc.

�      Theuse of technology along with implementation of effective teaching strategies.

�       Conductregular practical courses as requisitions of prescribed syllabus. Dedicated andcommitted faculty and technical staff.

�        Activelyco-ordination between other faculty member of college.

     Weakness:

�      insufficientspace in laboratory is the major problem corresponding to the increasingstudents in Under Graduate Level.

�      Insufficientlaboratory equipment.

�       Lackof awareness about computer and other advanced technology in students due torural background.

�      PoorEnglish knowledge and communication skills of student.

�       Thestudent entering the college are not well-versed the basic knowledge.

�       Studentbelonging to rural area have no knowledge of computer.

�       Toassess the necessities of student by identifying their area of weakness andstrength and planning effective remedial classes, guest lectures and seminarfor them.

�       Studentsare given opportunities for developing organizational skills and leadershipqualities by giving responsibilities.

�       Topromote the students for research activity and presentation of their work apartfrom the syllabus.

�       Weare trying to upgrade the department for P.G. programme.

�       Weare in process to establish lab with computer facility.

�    One week Yoga shivir was organised by department from15/11/2017-19/11/2017.

�    National Youth Day was celebrated in department and college on12/01/2018.

�    Science day was celebrated on department on dated: 28/02/2018.On this occasion choice based science quiz was organised.

�    Social Entrepreneurship Swachhata Rural Engagement Cell SESRECspread awareness amongst sensitivity and hygiene, waste management. Watermanagement, energy management, greenery in campus and outside the campus ondate: 21/09/2020.

13.    Best practice in curricular aspect:

�       Dueto lack of space, equipment and materials facility in lab for practical work,we designed alternative practical for Under Graduate students based on theirsyllabus.

14.    Analysis of feedback:

�       Thereshould be proper facility of drinking water, washrooms and common room incollege

�       Thereshouldbe proper equipment facility for practical works

�       Postgraduationshould be start in this subject.

15.     Library:                                                                                          

 Student has access of the college library byitself only. There is no departmental library facility for undergraduatestudents.

16.  Future Plans:

�       Settingup a departmental library for Under Graduate students.

�      Overallimprovement of departmental infrastructure with well-equipped laboratory.

�       Postgraduation should be start in this subject.
